Red carpet treatment

1. The sun is shining. Actual sunshine. Without a blink of an eye, the yellow shoes are on. Their life is limited in this climate and each day counts.

2. A big walk at lunch takes us to Sonny and Vitos on Park Road for a pretty great bite to eat. What a lovely wee place.

3. Another stroll after work to an exhibition that has popped up in a shop on Albion Street. This shot from Karen let's you see the preparation in action.
We are met by a very lovely bouncer who splits us - one becomes a gatecrasher, the other makes the list. Inside the crowd has gathered - gatecrashers and partygoers alike. The fizz flows and the chat is great. I love Diane's work - it's clever and funny. The whole exhibition ties together with wit and skill. Lovely.

4. West Brewery is mobbed. The jagerschnitzel is cracking and we are home in time to stock up in clinking Williams products. On the way we discover that mum's car hasn't been clamped or towed. The first day of Olympic parking restrictions took me by surprise today and I had no idea what I might be returning to. Luckily international diplomatic blunders involving flags mean the organisers were no doubt distracted.

5. The evening ends in the cockpit with french songs and Scottish beers and a hope that we aren't at war with North Korea.
