Looking up and down

Backblipping our recent holiday

A day with a lot of remembering and a bit of wandering.

We started at the 9/11 memorial and museum. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this but there were some New Yorkers there to tell little pieces of the story with such imagery and kindness that in the end it was right to have gone.

And the timing was appropriate to spend the morning here as I was especially remembering my sister this day, ten years missed.

For a gentle complement we wandered along the highline, taking ourselves a little bit out and above the frenetic pace of the city. Took a few snaps from there, and in the subway, which is a ongoing challenge to photograph on our trips to New York.

The evening was a great meal in Nolita followed by a night at Café Wha, where every tune the band plays is one you know and suddenly want to sing.
