Shepherd's Hey Farm

Osuzanna and I met at 4:30 AM to join a photo safari led by the county Countryside Alliance.  The group works with the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve to preserve farmland involving 93,000 acres.  The original plan for the outing was to photograph a lavender field but the plants are behind schedule this year due to the weather.  We visited this scenic working farm instead.  A sunrise view of the neighboring mountain wasn't visible in the clouds, but the farm is a photographic gem.  Two ponds, rolling wheat fields, green lawns, frolicking dogs, sheep, geese and a newly renovated barn and farmhouse kept us very busy for the five hours we were there.  Although an opportunity to shoot landscapes was very informative and a lot of fun, I had to include a shot of the sheep as an extra.
