It was the little things that made the day. The stroll down to Croke Park and the disbelieving kids invited on stage, the pint drinking old man chatting to the gardalike he was chatting to Peter O'Loughlin , the excitement in the faces of the idolisers of Bruce Springstein and, for me, the company.......just saying

You remember young Peter O'Loughlin, of course
Well, now he is here at the head of the force
I met him today, I was crossing the Strand
And he stopped the whole street with a wave of his hand
And there we stood talkin' of days that are gone
While the whole population of London looked on.......
