Endless Weekend

Scottish National Gallery

I've been to many, many museums in my life, but today's visit to the National Gallery was a real high. The Bridgewater loan on display is an amazing collection spanning the Italian Renaissance through the Impressionists and had paintings I've seen only in books. Fantastic. We enjoyed lunch there as well, and walked the crowded Royal Mile. Stopped for a tour of Gladstone's tenement, the only surviving dwelling dating to the 1600s. Walked up Calton Hill for beautiful views of the city and out to the North Sea. Perfect day!
