LadyG: The Beautiful Vagabond

"The very idea of a bird is a symbol and a suggestion to the poet. A bird seems to be at the top of the scale, so vehement and intense life. . . . The beautiful vagabonds, endowed with every grace, masters of all climes, and knowing no bounds . . . " - John Burroughs (1837 - 1921), Birds and Poets, 1887

This is the third in a trilogy of pictures of the wonderful Lady Greensleeves, a hummingbird who pays me the courtesy of many daily visits to my butterfly and hummingbird garden!

In this photo, the esteemed LadyG, that beautiful vagabond, is taking a little break by sitting on a wire overlooking the butterfly garden. She is an emerald jewel sparkling against the many other shimmering greens of a summer's day.

The first photo, "Flying Joyfully Through Her Days," is Sunday's picture.

The second photo, "To Have Faith Is To Have Wings," is Monday's picture.
