Memories

I was struggling for a blip today, then one appeared in the most unusual place - my laundry!

I'd just taken a new cardigan, which arrived from Boden today, out of the dryer. I'd washed it straight away to get rid of that "new packaging" smell.

This will probably sound very strange, but the look and more importantly the touch, of the velvet trim on the cardigan suddenly brought back all kinds of lovely childhood memories... ribbons in dolls' hair (occasionally my own) and on the party dresses my mother used to make for me. One in particular, a purple one, sprang to mind.

Isn't it peculiar how an everyday object, so small and insignificant, can evoke so many thoughts and feelings? Most bizarre.
