A sense of place

I escaped today at work... and broke out into the public area for a bit...

We've got an interesting exhibition on, called 'a sense of place'. A scottish artist, has worked with our curator to develop this jewellery exhibition.

Several jewellers from across Scotland, Iceland and Scandinavia each filled a wooden box with items that were significant to their sense of place and belonging. They then designed a piece of jewellery based on this. Each box was then sent anonymously to one of the other artists, who made an item in response to to the boxes contents. Both pieces of jewellery are displayed next to each other above the box that they relate to.

It's really interesting. Some have worked amazingly well, and some not quite how you would expect... but I like both the idea and the finished exhibit...
