Laddie Wood

This is a couple of very cute baby Highland Cattle at Laddie Wood. The herd is tended by Mr F. He is passionate about the breed and also the benefits of their presence to the environment, Some of thestock have been deployed in a butterfly reserve on the north side of Loch Arkaig and subsequent head counts and sightings of the more exotic varieties have increased dramatically.

It has been hot and humid today and the heavens really opened up at about 3.0pm with sustained very heavy rain and thunder and lightning. There was barely a shower at home, only about 15 miles away as the crow flies.

What else; we saw an Osprey on the way to site this morning too. Still on birds, forgot to mention Mrs SJR and I saw a pair of Black Throated Divers on our walk to Lochan na h-Earba at the weekend.
