Orton Community Parkland

It's not big and it's not grand, but it is oh so beautiful and I often have it to myself. Today we'd been intending to rebuild the drystone walls that were knocked down to let out the flood waters back in December with Friends of the Lake District, but the Health & Safety police stopped play when it was realised not all the volunteers had steel toecap boots....
I gave up my whimsical counting of different species when I passed 50, in the heat of a lazy day it seemed much better to lounge in the long grass with Pushka and count my blessings instead.

Then I returned to my sentence of hard manual labour, or gardening as it's otherwise known.
