I Am An Intellectual

My Dear Fellow,

No really, I am. You can tell I'm very very clever because I go to the Independent Cinema.

I can't keep it up. I feel like a fraud. I admit it. I was only there to see a musical that featured Duran Duran and The Cure. The film was called Sing Street and it was GREAT fun. Thoroughly recommended.

It helped that Princess Normal accompanied me. She was on excellent form and her threatening to sing during the film merely enhanced the experience. Afterward she took me for birthday mojitos where the barmaid engaged in the most ridiculous ritual in making them. There was a lot of over-enthusiastic jigging about when adding each ingredient. The mint leaves were given a playful SLAP and then TOSSED into the glass.

The Princess was unimpressed. "I know she had a great body and was clearly very attractive, but was that really necessary?" she asked. "It just looked like she was in love with herself."

I agreed. We are both married and I am a really old b*gger. There's just no need to turn a cocktail into a show on our account, plus it just slowed down delivery of the alcohol, which was the important thing here.

Still, it gave us a new euphemism. "Slapping the mint" now means something very specific and not particularly family-friendly to us now. The whole evening was worth it for that alone. Please do think of us the next time you feel the need to toss a mojito.

Good morning!

Thank you for last night. I really enjoyed that. Especially the mojitos.

I thought about giving the cats their breakfast in a similar style today—juggling the cat biscuits before putting them in the bowl, but I’m not sure Punky would have been impressed.

I’ve been in since 7:30. That was not easy to do as I stayed up until about 1:30.

Ugh. I’m not going to be pleasant to be around today.

Coming in early has given me time to look at film times for that folk music film, “Where You’re Meant To Be.”

It looks like it is getting only ONE showing on Friday 17th. That’s it.
It could be that it gets a wider release after that, but I’m not sure.
So that’s a bit rubbish.

However, if you want to see that Japanese cartoon thingy then I could give it a go.

I have never seen any of them, but I have an open mind and if I hate it I’ll just sit eating crisps noisily all the way through and sighing.

Here is my photo-thingy. It is not particularly funny, it’s more like a diary with photos.

It was a very funny night.

I didn’t come in until 8:40, but I was awake about 5:30.

Needless to say, no running for me this morning.

I will look at your photos tonight as it is a banned site here.

Standard Life has wisely recognised your deviancy!
