Wide Angle Wednesday - Nature

After early morning rain, we set off around 6:30 for our walk - it was lovey and fresh after the overnight mugginess.

We walked up the old A1 layby bridleway which we haven't done for a while and the sun was just catching this pine tree and making the flowers 'glow'.

I believe the tree is a scots pine - and the bright orange bits are male flowers. Below the branch you can see immature female flowers that will go on to develop into the familiar 'cone'

Shot with my little Lumix at 5.1mm (wide angle - equivalent to 24 mm in 35mm camera terms) and is my 'entry' for BobsBlips Wide Angle Wednesday challenge'
