Feeding the local "wildlife"

W has made a hedgehog feeding station at the bottom of the garden.

He has also bought a motion activated camera and set it up to watch for wildlife.

We have had pictures of hedgehogs.  Also many pictures of mice.  And on one occasion a deer.  And a number of pictures of cats.  But there were a few teething problems getting the camera to take both stills and video as it was supposed to.  And then problem reading the memory card which was traced to a faulty card reader.  Now W has a new card reader, and last night set up the camera again - working properly with stills and video at last.

It would seem we are supplementing the diet of our neighbours' already well fed cat, Theo.  We have the photographic evidence.  He arrived around 11pm last night, managed to get his head far enough into the box to eat some of the food, had a really good wash and brush up in front of the camera, ate a little more, and left.  He returned for a top up just before 1am.

The only other wildlife we caught on film last night was a pigeon.  But it is likely we are not just feeding one cat - there are several other local cats who are probably also sharing the spoils!

Now we know.  W will find another box and make a much smaller hole!
