My alternative diary

Necessity is the mother of invention

I’ve noticed over the last week or so that a quartet Jackdaws have been trying to work out how they can get at the suet balls on the birdfeeder. Although they squabble a lot they seem to cooperate over the bird feeder. One of them struggles to hang onto the feeder and peck furiously at the suet balls which means lots of bits fall to the ground – the other three congregate around the base of the feeder to feast on fallen “crumbs”.
