Catching the rays

Back to work today. On my way I spotted this slow worm (Anguis fragilis) warming up in the sun on the pavement. They are one the few native British reptiles and are not a snake but a lizard that has no legs. They are quite slow when they are cold, but once they have warmed up in the sun they can move quite quickly - as this one did when I tried to take a picture of it!
