Reedmace

Or to be more exact: Greater Reedmace - Typha latifolia

Also incorrectly known as Bulrush. True Bulrush is a sedge, Schoenoplectus lacustris.
In the USA, Reedmace is known as 'cattails'.


This is one of last year's seed-heads now starting to shed its wind-dispersed seeds though not much wind today.

I was hoping for a good sunset tonight as there was quite a bit of high cloud (cirrus) but lower cloud moved in obscuring the sun about an hour before sunset.  Probably a front coming in.
