Flower or Weed?!

Can you help solve the mystery?

This self-seeded plant has appeared in the garden this year, and is about 4 feet tall. Despite having leafed through every plant book I own, I still have no idea what it is. I have a sneaking suspicion it’s not a garden plant, but how can anything this pretty be called a weed?! Any suggestions?
