Going down

Horrendous drive to Aberystwyth yesterday and then a hot, humid day working today. Didn't even take my camera out of the car. So the phone it is again.

This is what (some of) Cardigan Bay looks like from above. I like the story that Cardigan Bay was created when a sea-wall failed and the low-lying land was flooded. As with all these stories, it is said that on very stormy nights you can hear the bell of the underwater church.

The last point ruins the story but reminds us how the past and blur into an amorphous mass. For by the time we had churches with bells, we also had maps and a record-keeping bureaucracy, so we would know plenty about what was there before the sea-wall broke.
