Ramblings and Mutterings

A Grand Day

A grand day all round!

Started early with Wales playing the All Blacks, and for time we dared to believe that we were finally going to beat them.  But as usual they went up a gear and we were left plucky losers again.

A trip down to Swansea then to meet a friend for lunch and a cuppa.  We went to the Kardomah Café, made famous by Dylan Thomas and his chums, oh and it’s also starred in a Doctor Who episode.

We then went to see A Party To Murder at the Grand Theatre, Swansea.  A really excellent play with so many twists and turns, you just never knew which way the story was going to go.  The company are coming back to the theatre for a number of other productions through the year, so it should be good.

Made it back in time to watch history in the making as Wales played their first match in a football tournament since the 1958 World Cup.  The nerves were jangling early on as we had a goal line clearance, but shortly after we were all in heaven as Super Gareth Bale curled a free kick in to score.  And so it remained 1-0 for the rest of the first half, and the early part of the second half.  But then Slovakia equalised and we were rocking for a while, before finally settling down again with a couple of substitutions to take the lead with 10 minutes to go.  WE WON!  Awesome!
