The Olympic flame heads down the Thames.

The last leg of the Olympic torch's epic 70 day journey started today at 7am in Bushy Park, south west of London. The flame was carried around the grounds of Hampton Court Palace, then boarded the Queen's barge Gloriana. Rowed by ex-Olympic rowers and young London-based rowers it then travelled to Central London along the Thames. I couldn't miss the opportunity to see the flame and the royal barge so headed for the Thames between Surbiton and Kingston early this morning. It was a bit grey, but there was a great atmosphere - lots of people having breakfast picnics whilst they waited for the barge. I left full of the Olympic spirit and very much looking forward to watching the opening ceremony tonight (from home!).
