Chartres

The old town of Chartres is very beautiful. Streets corkscrew up towards the magnificent cathedral whose walls are supported by the original flying buttresses. Its inside glows with the light shining in through immense stain glass windows. Nearby, a Saturday vegetable market was in full flow. A detail from its roof can be seen in extras. We finally departed, again heading West for Nogent le Retrou. En route we passed through the aptly named village of Villebon, where the grounds of the chateau were open for a Citroen rally. A perfect spot for a picnic for 4 cyclists.
