Meet our local swan!

I saw 3 of them today. And took about 400 shots of them swimming, a couple of their takeoff and a couple of them flying.

To day is our Indipendence day. Nearly 2000 members of Finnish elite are invited by our president to her palace to shake her hand and to drink and to eat something, to discuss and dance.
There is standing room only, so it is quite strenous to wait to be noticed by the TV.
About 1,5 million of us (there are 5,3 million of us altogether), who are not invited, are staring at the TV, to see the elite shaking hands, drinking, eating, discussing, dancing and standing.

For weeks the ladies invited have shown their dresses to us in tabloids and women´s magazines. The most stared people will be the girlfriend on our prime minister and the boyfriend of our former culture minister (and miss Finland).

My TV is not working, so I´m going to miss all this tonight. But no problem, the tabloids and magazines are showing next week hundreds of photos of the best dressed women and the boyfriends and girlfriends and couples and singles shaking hands, drinking, discussing, eating and dancing and standing.

So the life here in dark North is quite jolly.

Tomorrow I´m going back to the shore to shoot more photos of our local swan(s).
