Shropshire's Waterways.

In 1797 the Shrewsbury to Newport canal was opened but regrettably fell into disrepair many years later. Volunteers have commenced reclamation work and the first quarter mile has been dug out ( although from the 1st picture vegetation can be seen to have grown quickly)  to re-open the " 24 mile rural green corridor". The additional pictures are from the river Severn which runs alongside the canal.
