Rainy day

Our village and those in our benefice group were invited to one of the churches for a special Evensong (but at 3.30pm) to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday.
But during the service, the noise of the rain on the church roof almost drowned out the sweet singing of the choir!
The tea afterwards had to be held inside the church instead of outside among the bunting and big union jacks.
But they had been to so much trouble - the afternoon tea was wonderful, and very much enjoyed by everybody - delicious little sandwiches, cupcakes, Victoria sponge cakes, fruit cake, little tiny pastries...!
It was good to gather and celebrate together!
