The weir at Whalley

Went for a great walk today with some members of the Lancashire branch of the family, and took in the weir at Whalley.

There is an interesting community project here to build a fish-friendly, electricity-generating water mill on the River Calder.

Apparently, the turbine is set to generate about £90k-worth of electricity a year.
