Blooming Hawthorn

After a morning of Pilates we decided to start checking paths for the Original Mountain Marathon Lite and bike event in September. This is a two day event that uses bridleways and footpaths over the course of two days for cyclists or those who prefer to travel on foot. The challenge is to visit as many check points as possible within a set time.

Today we were on the moors checking footpaths for the runners/walkers. The forecast was for yet more cloud but we were lucky to see some sunshine.

This Hawthorn is behind the hedgerows in the Vale of Pickering which are past their best. I also liked the tangled and twisted roots and trunks.
