Hidden Heron

Again in a rush, as we just got home, but got to get out for a meeting in a bit... hope to get caught up tomorrow.

Another day exploring: around Beja; then to Cuba, where Christopher Columbus was supposedly born; then to see a Roman bridge; then a great lunch in Alvito; then down to see the reservoir at Ariola - which is the photo. I was standing in the water at one end of the road, and you can see the other end off to the left; the trees in the distance are cork oaks. Can you also see the heron? Quite strange to see the old road sign to Alvito as you come out of the water...

In all this, nary another foreigner, and mostly no other people.

Stopped off in Évora to buy fans, though it's actually been quite cool and a bit rainy today - very unusual.
