Moment to Shine

So proud to be British right now.
Was fortunate enough to be given a ticket for the Hyde Park concert tonight and at the start of the evening, I
was very excited about seeing Duran Duran and very lIttle else.
The sight of Union Flags, face paint, clothing (and brollies durIng the brief rainy spell) were a joy to see.
An unexpected fly past by the Red Arrows drew gasps from an already excited crowd.
Danny Boyle's phenomenal opening ceremony was shown on the big screen straight after Duran's amazing set and by the end, I'd almost forgotten that part of the evening.
The atmosphere was incredible, with big cheers roaring approvingly with each 'reveal'
Not sure about how impressed the rest of the world were, but I suddenly realised how impressive we are. Been openly Olympic bashing for days and now say
'Welcome to Great Britain. We have our faults, we make mistakes, but united, just look what we have achieved.'
Still don't care much for the sporting side of this event, but thrilled to have witnessed a show that put the Great back into Britain.
Wish I had a photo of the Queen sky diving into the Olympic Stadium to blip here, but think this photo reflects the evening perfectly.

Thank you Danny Boyle and all who worked so hard to give us our Moment to Shine.
