A mini olympic flame, if you like. A couple of ill-advised beers before back to watch the opening doo-dah of the thingumy-whatsits. Alarmingly not-as-embarrassing-as-anticipated, quite the opposite in fact.

Not really sure what non-Brits made of it, but Boyle seems to have won over an awful lot of cynics. All that and Andrew Lansley-as-Voldemort being chased off by an army of Mary Poppins. Brilliant.
