Busy on the water

A mixture of bright sunshine interspersed with heavy skies and sudden downpours of rain made it difficult to know what to wear from one minute to the next, but there were moments which made it all worth while and a reminder that this is an English summer after all!

I was lucky to get two historic Thames sailing barges in this shot today: Hydrogen (left) waiting to enter the lock on her way down river (The Orwell) to the coast, and Thalatta moored on the right.  Both date from 1906.
