Applied probability:

a <5% chance of rain does not mean that it is safe to leave cutting the grass until later to give a chance to dry out. It means that rain is entirely possible, even if not very likely. 

At least my procrastination was a passive decision. Mrs E set off to have a walk with the dogs just before the short, sharp shower.
