Another full and exciting day

17th June 2016

Early morning call to the farm to collect the girls, who really didn’t want to leave as they had such a wonderful time and learned so much about our workers and about how they operate. The had dinners in two houses and same at breakfast time. Malawians are most hospitable.

The main pic shows a little pack of clothes for one of our employees Martha, in the factory who was surprised when twin babies, a boy and a girl, arrived yesterday. It was all hands on the go to select from an array of knitwear given to us by the amazing group of women knitters, in Bailieboro, Co Cavan a few weeks ago. The youngest lady in this group is in her seventies, with many over eighty and they produce really spectacular knitwear.
This prezzie could not be more timely.
Martha is gone home to her home village and the clothes will be delivered tomorrow.

The students also went back to Kototo Primary School for an open day. No reports yet.

The last pics are of our latest invention, pumpwise. It is the latest modification which will enable our villagers to take water from a well and pump it into a tank or up hill to a height of maybe 10 meters or more.
In the morning we will test it for depth and we suspect that it will go to maybe 25 meters, but we will now have to find a 25 meter deep well!
The pressure id excellent and we will try it for watering our greenhouses

If it does  what  we suspect then it will be celebration time in the factory
