Photo 24 London - Day 2

So into the night of Photo 24 London we went (check yesterday's blip for a rundown of the first 12 hours).

The rain stopped a bit after midnight and I ventured across to Oxford Circus for a few light trails. Around 2.30pm I joined another of the optional tours. Two classic Routemaster buses had been booked and each took us to various locations across the city. At each stop, the bus was parked up allowing us try some photographs or sent on a circular route (for example through Picadilly Circus) so we could get some "in action" shots. The blip was taken somewhere around Horse Guards Avenue.

We got to Westminster Bridge around 4.30am to join another informal meet up, there was no sunrise to speak of so after about an hour, we rejoined the buses for another location or two including the Bank of England. We stopped to grab some early breakfast around 6am, I decided I'd done enough bus shots so I left the tour (which went until 8am) to join up with a friend at Waterloo.

We headed out along an extremely quiet Southbank to grab some superb coffee in Borough Market and more photos. A quick march alomg Southbank to join the queue to get into the Tate Modern at 10am and up in the lift of the new Switch Tower (we did walk down!!). The view from the balcony on the 10th floor is fab, another new perspective on the city skyline (see the extra).

Finally we headed back to Holborn to join a weary but still quite animated collection of the photographers who had made it to the finish. We all received an "I survived Photo 24" t-shirt and then it was over for another year.

There are themed competitions to enter photos from the event into over the next couple of weeks (as long as they were taken during the 24 hours of the event) but as in the last two years, what I've really taken away is some new contacts and friends, better knowledge of he city and even a few new tips and tricks to try.

Home for some rest.
