West Cork blippers

Reality has set in with some monumental rain! Nonetheless we all gamely set out for a West Cork blipmeet and gathered at Glebe Gardens in Baltimore- normally a wonderfully verdant and pleasant place to spend some time. It was jam-packed in the cafe itself so we hardy souls Michaelplaice, Himself, CarolineL, Gitama, Travellersjoy) braved the elements. What you can't see is a canvas canopy above us which was flapping like mad and in one corner torrents of water were cascading from it.  G got n extra bug on her beautifully arranged cake (it crawled out from within a flower), Michael was drenched in balsamic vinegar by the rather charming waitress, the red dye oozed out of my sandals over my feet  and we ended up freezing, but all good. The walk around the gardens was a bit half-hearted as the rain was the very wet kind (you know what I mean). As we drove home we did manage a very damp visit to a holy well.

And what a night last night was - some truly sensational playing. Extras are of Andy May, a Northumbrian piper who was gamely invited to improvise along with some fiercely fast Irish music, and The Bonny Men plus Pipers Union who combined for a grande finale - a tour de force.

Did I mention we are all wrecked!!
