Open Gardens

On the Sunday of Village Week, garden enthusiasts open their gardens to the public and it us a fy organised event, with teas in the Barn Hall and minibuses trailing round the village, transporting visitors from garden to garden.
This year my sister J and I visited five lovely gardens. Most were quite small but packed full of interest. We saw many unusual plants interspersed with the familiar, and very noticeable was the number of fun ornaments mixed amongst the flowers. The gardens made me more determined than ever to get mine under control.
The garden with the parasol was on a corner plot of a all semi. It opened out at the back and was beautifully tended with an attractive pond. She had two pretty Indian parasols. We needed no protection from the sun today, but it didn't rain either, luckily.
