Summer Stare

I'll just say that she could be heard telepathically transmitting this message..."there best be some lovely tuna sandwiches offered soon..."

For the Record,
This day came in with perfect summer weather to welcome the new season.

All hands heartbroken.
We received terribly sad and shocking news late yesterday afternoon. One of our friends died of pneumonia complications. Joan was only in her late 60s, vibrant, brilliant and almost amusingly impatient. Library Trustee, Past President of the Hanover Garden Club, a political ally of ours and half of a couple that are very special to us. Words fail me, at the Garden Club picnic on Thursday we heard she was in the hospital with pneumonia, a sickness that had put her there before, but no one was worried. The antibiotics failed to help her and she slipped away from us all yesterday. I loved her, we loved her.

In this photo, Joan and I had just finished arranging our Hanover Garden Club contribution to Art in Bloom at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston back in 2004.

In Memory of Joan
