Anne's Daily Encounters

No Field Day today

Torrential rain from the morning when I left for work till the eve when I got home, switched on the radio and heard it's the International Day for the Refugees.... OMG and how do they shelter here?!

And thought on instance of an acquaintance who's left Crete after 20 yrs of married life there and arrived here alike a refugee some weeks ago; no home, no money, no work, no papers... And she's no refugee, she's dutch, returning to this land penniless and thus she's advised to take shelter in the homeless home in one of the larger cities of the country and count her blessings for any reward coming her way in a couple of years time.... OMG is that true?!

Just called her handy and she answered luckily... Soaked from today's rain and sheltering now in a tent...  Good to hear her news and get some hope across the line... but howlong can she relie on such thin hopes?!
