Doors in Oslo # 90

The Evangelical Lutheran Free Church has a beautiful door.  The building is from 1920 and designed by the architects Harald Aars and Lorentz Ree.

I must admit I never really "seen" the church even if passing by many times.

The church community consists of a total of 81 churches spread around Norway, and has 21.500 members including children and family members. The church community got established  in 1877 as a protest to the state church's control, the pastor's authority and domination, as well as the forced ritual confession. They were inspired by the Free Church of Scotland.

They have soon their 100 anniversary and they celebrate that year with having missionaries In Japan, Turkey, Mali, Israel, Palestine, China, Ethiopia and Taiwan.

Interesting how a door makes me find more about those how use the door!
