Z is for...

Zebra Finches..

All I could think of was zebra but where to find one, apart from going to a zoo or wildlife park - I was busy in the garden today so didn't have time for that.

But I needed some canes to prop up the cucumber plants so we went to the little garden centre near our village. We were wandering round looking at the flowers when I heard the noise from all the caged birds and had a brainwave - wonder if they've got some zebra finches? As you can see, they did!

Have to say, I prefer to see birds flying wild and free, not a big fan of keeping birds in cages.
