A Candle for Christine - on Mount Pantokrator

This morning as we sat by our pool in beautiful Corfu sunshine we received the sad news that our dear friend and neighbour W had lost her daughter just a day before her 53rd birthday. Christine had Downs Syndrome and was a lovely happy teenager when we moved next door 37 years ago but in recent months her health has been declining, she had lost her sight and in so many ways by sleeping away on Sunday morning it is lovely that she is at peace.

We phoned W and she was amazing - Mrs AMK was a wreck not being around to support W but our friends have rallied round and a good hour after we had planned to we set off to the top of Mount Pantokrator. In the lovely old monastery built in 1347 we lit a candle for Christine.

We discovered that since our last visit the monks have all left for Paleokastritsa where they at least have running water.
The extra is of the doorway of the monastery.
