Bight Helios

Ah, bright Helios
Father and Son
Moon lover,
Mother's child
Cast your rays
Your golden warmth
Onto this tear soaked
Barren soil
Tempt seed from husk
Root to emerge
To make first feed
Shoot of corn,
Barley, rye
Break from ground
Expose themselves
Show green life through
Black, sodden death
Oh joyous diety!
Call out
Issue forth
Your summons
Only you
Hold the power
Sing
Your deep, sweet song of birth
That lifts
That draws upwards
Those new-born
Shoots of green life
Into flower
Into seed
That we,
Humble servants that we are,
Might make harvest
Might gather in
Earth's dear bounty
To survive
Winter's long drear
And mourn your demise
And pray
That
Once more we might bear witness
And celebrate
Thy re-birth
Oh Helios
Hear us
