Thistles

The blip is a skull we found in the field plus me playing with the selective colour button on the new camera.

Today's task was to pull up creeping thistle - cirsium arvense. The Weeds Act 1959 creates an obligation on landowners to keep this (and other notable weeds) under control or risk a fine. The extra is a collage showing - the very tall marsh thistle (top photos) which is not a controlled by the Weeds Act, and  (bottom photos) some of the volunteers today pulling up the nasty creeping thistle with attractive pink ragwort forks.
