Tickencote Church

This small church has some of the best Norman stonework that I have ever seen. The arch is made up of rows of carvings, one row has a mix of animals, people and foliage. Another is entirely of beaked bird like creatures. The carvings are varied and look as if they have been done by a number of different craftsmen as the detail and quality vary.

Thanks so much for all the lovely comments, stars and hearts for yesterday's poppy shot - I really appreciate them all
