In the beginning!

In 1952 when we emigrated to Australia I was 2 years old, our family was sponsored by relatives living in Tamworth in the north west of New South Wales. In 1952 if I had taken this blip using a fixed lens on a 127 roll film camera, I could have fitted the entire town on one shot. The picture is taken from Oxley Lookout, named after one of Australia's early explorers. The blip is the centre shot of six covering the panorama of what is now a regional city. Tamworth was the first town in Australia to have electric street lighting. I took time out today to drive around some of the places which were familiar to me, I was delighted that the city is dynamic and vibrant.
