Gathering Storm

What a truly awful day - the news of the EU referendum result has been a bitter pill to swallow. From the start, I maintained this would be about immigration and a 'bash the Tories' exercise. Yes, there are lots of foreign nationals working over here - mainly doing jobs that the Brits can't be a*sed about - fruit picking is prime example. Last week in Chester we stayed a hotel that was populated with Poles, Czechs and Germans (judging by the vehicles in the car park) -  all working and spending their cash over here, supporting the local economy - the bar and local takeaways were doing a roaring trade. Hospitals and doctors are under strain "because of immigrants" - no they are not, they are under strain because they are not properly funded.

And now the Prime Minister has decided to walk away from the mess he has created. The prospect of Gove or Boris as leaders is truly frightening.

I feel for the younger generations - including my children and grandchild(ren) - who will have to live with this and try and pick up the pieces. They are the ones who have grown up never knowing anything else and were much more in favour of remaining members.

I really had no appetite to take any photographs today - but was forced on a detour back from Wetherby and came across the deserted pig sties and fleeing crows with a huge rain storm behind.

May need a large vat of beer later to calm me down...
