Dazzle Ship

Down in Leith this morning for a coffee with friends and came across this brightly painted ship. Can't say I've ever seen anything like it. Thanks to Google we learnt that the ship is a floating artwork celebrating the role of women in the First World War effort. The ship was designed by Ciara Philips as part of the UK centenary commemorations. It's a contemporary take on the " dazzle" technique which was deployed in the war where boats were painted in bold colours to confuse the enemy.
