Day 10 of Ramadan

A small street that runs between Sharia (Street) Medina and Sharia Television (So called because of the large television mast) is alive with people taking a quiet shortcut between the 2 hectic streets.

The local Aish Baladi (Country bread) maker has a continuous, unorganised and disorderly crowd at it's steel bar windows, as people almost battle to get near with their cardboard boxes (Which are used as trays) to carry the piping hot flat bread. Imagine a round pitta bread and this is similar to the Baladi bread. It is a Government subsidised bread, allowing local people 20 for 1le.

Ramadan bunting looks so vibrant in these back streets and always catches my eye. But today, because of a strong wind, the bunting was not static as usual. As I watched the plastic, colours dancing in the sunlight, the sound they made, was reminiscent of kites flying and being caught in a cross breeze.
