Vultures

Long time ago, there was a gibbet erected at this place, as a visible symbol of power of the lord of Mheer. In 1795 it was taken away. No longer in fashion, I think, to hang people.
This artwork is placed here in 2011 as a monument. Bert and I were on a short bicycle trip, right in between the showers  and saw it from afar. It is placed on the high bank of the old sunken lane. We've never seen it before, but had plenty of time to look at it, because of the severe thunderstorm that suddenly arose.
Because of the wind, the vultures where wheeling.
