Teddy Welcomes UglyDoll

We stopped in for a quick visit with our young friend in Bristol and gave her some Kefir grains. She was more than generous in return and we came away with 2 Blue Basil cuttings, the loan of 2 Chalet School books and this Ice Bat Uglydoll! Here he is welcomed to Sutton with a bottle of bubbly with Teddy!
The UglyDoll brand grew out of a little cartoon creature sketched by David Horvath at the end of his long distance letters to his girlfriend Sun-Min Kim, who then, as a surprise gift made a doll of it and sent it to David in the mail. I love their definition of the word "ugly" as "the unique and special, that we should be celebrating, that which makes us different, never hiding the twists or turns which make us who we are, inside and out."
