Juvenile Swallows

This afternoon has been very warm and sunny so we popped out for a stroll along the River Otter.  While checking out the size of the fish and watching a few Swallows circle overhead I became aware of these two hidden in the reeds.  I am assuming they are juvenile as the head markings are not so strong.

As my husband was speaking of a conversation describing this location and saying that if you are lucky you can sometimes see a kingfisher, one flew past but too quickly for my camera.  That was very lucky considering how much of the river is now overgrown with thistles, cow parsley and the notorious himalayan balsam hence blocking your view.

One cream tea later and we are home.
